ABOUT US

Re-Connect, established in 2002 following research undertaken, is a user led local charitable organisation supporting older people in Wakefield by the provision of support, advice and other services to assist them in their independent living, relieve social isolation, promote their good health and improve their quality of life. Re-Connect work in partnership with both the statutory and voluntary sectors.

Mission Statement

The relief of persons over the age of 50 in West Wakefield, by the provision of support, advice and other services to assist them in their independent living, relieve their social isolation, promote their good health and improve their quality of life.

Objectives

PQASSO

The project holds a Certificate of Best Practice, in recognition of their commitment to maintaining high standards in the voluntary and community sector, through the implementation of the Practical Quality Assurance System for Small Organisations. The project is committed to confidentiality, equality, diversity and user involvement.

VISOP

 

A partnership between Re-Connect, Age Concern Wakefield District, Pontefract Live at Home Scheme, Alzheimer’s Society Wakefield & Five Towns Branch, Carers Wakefield & District and DIAL. VISOP was set up in recognition of the need to strengthen the voluntary sector provision for older people, a response to the proposal for Joint Commissioning of services for older people by the Older Peoples Partnership Board.

 

Wakefield District Wellbeing Consortium

 

Re-Connect is a member of the Wakefield District Wellbeing Consortium and the vision of the consortium is to: Improve the health and wellbeing of people within Wakefield District, addressing identified health priorities through local, high quality, user led services. The mission of the consortium is to ensure the sustainability of the local voluntary sector by working collaboratively to win contracts and delivering professional wellbeing-related services.

 

Wakefield Assembly

Re-Connect is a member of the Wakefield District VCS Assembly. The Assembly was set up to povide an opportunity for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) accross the Wakefield District to develop a united voice and to ensure that issues important to the VCS are brought to the fore.
